Sausage King Reaches out through Local Charity Events, Cincinnati Reds, & New Summer Festival
May 19, 2011
“Queen City Sausage is a local “craft” sausage maker whose recipes are authentic with only the finest ingredients used including hand mixed spices. Since 1965, Elmer Hensler, founder and president, still employs old world sausage craftsmanship and real wood smoke flavor in the company’s sausage production. The company has recently begun and expanded several initiatives in order to spread the word and connect with the community about their locally made sausages and rich history. By Giving We Receive There is no substitute for building relationships the old fashioned way. Simply show up where people gather, help support a great cause, and make friends while offering freshly grilled free samples of Queen City sausages and goetta. Queen City Sausage has committed to supporting local charities such as the Heart Mini Marathon, Flying Pig, Komen Race for the Cure and 7 other charity events. The samples include the all new Beef and Swiss mett, which the Cincinnati Reds have introduced on their 2011 concession menus. Additionally, Queen City’s premium goetta is served on mini Klosterman potato buns. The charities are very pleased and appreciative for the sampling and the event visitors swarm the two Queen City Booths in anticipation. Brat’ter Up!
In 2010 Elmer Hensler introduced the Queen City Sausage “signature” brat to the Cincinnati Reds. The results far exceeded expectations. In 2011 the Queen City product line expanded at the Red’s with the Hot Mett, all “new” Beef and Swiss mett, created by Patrick Miller, Queen City’s operation manager, Super Dog, and Andouille. This relationship is a natural fit for a local company like Queen City Sausage and the local, hometown proud team.

Better Communication and Accessibility
An all new www.queencitysausage.com website launched in early May, 2011. The goal of the site was to showcase the delicious products through great food imagery and tell the Queen City story. The new site also connects to Queen City’s Facebook page and a blog section. Additionally, Queen City Sausage joined Montgomery Inn’s Cincy Favorites for expanding mail order business.
