MAPLE GLAZED BRUSSEL SPROUTS WITH HOT SMOKED SAUSAGE

Ingredients

·         30 Brussel Sprouts

·         4 Links-Queen City Sausage, Smoked Sausage.  Sliced

·         1 TSP Olive oil

·         ½ TSP Garlic powder

·         1 TSP Oregano

·         ½ TSP Red chili powder

·         Pinch of salt

For the Glaze

·         1/3 Cup maple syrup

·         1 TSP Red chili flakes

·         1 TSP garlic powder

·         ½ TSP Italian seasoning

·         2 TSP Butter

Directions

1.      Coat the Brussel Sprouts with two large pinches of salt and toss.  Let sit for 5 minutes while bringing a pot of water to a boil.  Drop sprouts into the boiling water for 5 minutes

2.      Strain the sprouts and toss them into iced cold water.  Once chilled, slice in half

3.      Add the sprout halves into a bowl with 2 TSP olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, red chili powder, and salt

4.      Coat a baking sheet with cooking oil.  Place the sprouts, open side down.  Add the sausages.  Bake at 400 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.  Be sure they do not burn

5.      In a bowl, add the maple syrup, red chili flakes, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and butter

6.      Toss in the crispy Brussel sprouts to coat and serve
