Classic French Toast with Goetta Side

Ingredients
1 Roll 16 OZ Queen City Sausage Goetta
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1 ½ Cups milk
1 Loaf French bread. Cut in ¾” slices
½ Cup butter
5 Eggs
4 OZ Pure maple syrup
2 TBS Powdered sugar


Instructions
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, mix and melt brown sugar and butter. Spray a 9” X 13” pan with non-stick vegetable spray and pour the butter/sugar mixture into it. Cut the French bread loaf to yield 6 slices. Add slices to the 9” X 13” pan. In a medium bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and vanilla thoroughly. Pour the mixture over the slices, taking care to cover the bread all over. Any excess will be absorbed by the bread. Cover the pan and refrigerate for 4-5 hours. 40 minutes before serving, pre heat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover the pan and bake for 30 minutes or until the toast is golden brown. You may need to broil for the last 5 minutes to achieve the golden brown. Top with powdered sugar. Serve with pure maple syrup. It is worth it.
