The Mighty Slaw Dog

This loaded sausage treat is a big deal in the Carolina’s.  We wondered what a Cincinnati variation would be like using mettwurst and local chili.

Ingredients

—6 Links Queen City Sausage Smoked Sausage

—6 Hot dog buns

—15 OZ Skyline Chili

—1/2 Diced onion

—Yellow mustard

Slaw Recipe

—2 Cups Hand grated green cabbage

—1 Carrot.  Freshly grated

—1/2 Cup Diced onion

—1/4 Cup Relish or diced dill pickles

Slaw Dressing

—1/2 Cup Mayonaise

—2 TBLS Yogurt or buttermilk

—1 TSP Apple cider vinegar

—1 TSP Everything But the Bagel seasoning

—1/4 TSP Onion powder

—1/2 TSP Black pepper

—1/2 TSP Sugar

—1 TSP Salt

Directions

  1. Combine the grated cabbage, pickle, carrot in a bowl and set aside in refrigerator, covered

  2. In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, yogurt, vinegar, and seasonings.  Mix this in with the cabbage bowl ingredients and blend well

  3. Grill or broil the sausages.  Assemble them on the buns.  Add mustard, onions, and chili sauce.  Top with coleslaw and serve
