

Smoked Sausages with Copycat Panera Bread French Onion Soup
This pairing of hickory smoked sausages with the iconic French onion soup is a perfect match of flavors!
Ingredients
—1 PK Queen City Sausage Smoked Sausage. Freshly grilled
—4 LBS. Yellow onions. Chopped
—32 OZ Beef stock
—2 TBLS Beef base
—14.5 OZ Chicken stock
—4 TBLS Butter
—1 TSP Salt
—1 TBLS Flour
—1/2 TSP Thyme
—1 Cup Croutons
—1/4 Cup Gruyère cheese. Shredded
—1 TBLS Asiago cheese. Shredded
Directions
Large stockpot pot, medium-low heat. Add the butter, onions and salt. Sauté for about 20 minutes to brown the onions. Note: It may be helpful to use an additional skillet to help with cooking the onions
Add 1 TBLS of flour to coat the onions. Continue sautéing for an additional minute
Add the beef stock, chicken stock, beef base, and thyme. Lower heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes
Top with both cheeses and croutons
Serve with the freshly grilled sausages
