CINCINNATI’S CLASSIC COTTAGE HAM AND GREEN BEANS

Ingredients

·         10 OZ Queen City Sausage Smoked Cottage Ham (Butt).  Sliced thin to eat or chunked for seasoning

·         1 Large Russet potato.  Cubed

·         3 Cans of Cut green beans (Or ideally fresh)

·         ½ Onion—sliced

·         2 OZ Olive oil

·         1 TBS Coarse ground pepper

·         1 TSP Salt

·         1 Cup Water

Directions

1.       Large cast iron skillet, medium-low heat.  Add water and potatoes to soften.  Include green beans if fresh.  Add onions

2.       If canned green beans, add once the potatoes are softened

3.       Add olive oil, cook on low heat for 10 minutes

4.       Add the cottage ham last and just before serving.  This recipe assumes the cottage ham is eaten as slices, not seasoning so much
